Do I have to get married in GTNP?

How do I know how much coverage I need?
Get in touch with me and this is the first thing I’ll help you figure out--this is a large area, and it's easy to underestimate how long it'll take to get from your hotel to an amazing location in Grand Teton National Park! During your free consultation, I’ll show you what’s possible and help you pick the right elopement package—and you can always add more time throughout the planning process.
How many weddings do you take per year?
I do my best to limit myself and only take on a few weddings every month so I can provide the best possible experience for my clients! I focus on quality, not quantity, and I’m not in this for the money—I’m in this for YOU!
Will you help us find a spot to get married?
YES! I have years of experience spend exploring the parks, and one of the perks of booking with me is access to my location list. I’ll get to know you both by asking deep questions and chatting on the phone and help you dream up a vision for your day. Then, I revisit every spot I think could be perfect for you, in addition to spending hours researching other locations, catered to the exact adventure you’re after. I’ll send you a detailed questionnaire & you a list of options and talk through all the possibilities with you until we nail down the perfect location.
Where are you based? Do couples travel to you? Do you travel?
Jackson Hole, Wyoming! Honestly, the majority of my couples are from out of state! That’s part of why I’m so passionate about eliminating stress for them. Yes, I do travel when my schedule permits!
How many images do we get?
This is where I’m different. I don’t like to cap how many images I give you, and I don’t believe in withholding your memories to get you to pay me more money like some photographers do. These are your moments. What am I going to do with them besides store them on a backup drive? I promise to tell the story of your day in its entirety, to capture your story fully, and give you more than enough images to remember this adventure.
What's your turnaround time?
Since I take on such a limited number of jobs per year, I have a faster turnaround time than most photographers! It all depends on how my schedule plays out, but typically within 8 weeks. I try to get them back to you as soon as possible while making sure I give each and every image the time it needs.
Do you give out RAW Images?
I'm always confused by this question. In case you don't know, a RAW file is an enormous, unedited image that you need specialty software to even open (like Capture One, Photoshop, or Lightroom). I think there's a common misconception that getting the RAW file means you're getting something better than what a photographer might normally send you (a JPEG), and it's just not true. A RAW file straight out of camera doesn't even look like what our eyes saw at the photo session (RAW files are flat and fuzzy because they allow for pure creativity and flexibility by your photographer), because a photographer needs to edit it to bring it to life.
I do not give out RAW files because I believe that editing is half the magic that goes into the photos, and is one way I’m able to pour my creativity into each shoot. Without editing, the images are only halfway done! I promise never to leave out any photos that you want or need, and if for some reason you ever do feel like I missed delivering a photo, just ask! I’m not going to let you miss out on your memories!
How do Payment Schedules work?
I require a 50% deposit along with your contract to secure your date, and the remaining 50% is due 1 month before your wedding day. I usually split this out into payments to make it easier. I’m happy to work with your schedule!
What the heck do we wear?!
Don’t you worry, I’ll send you a what to wear guide so you feel totally prepared!
What if we need to cancel/reschedule our shoot or wedding? What about COVID?
If you’ve already put down a deposit on a date but then have to move or cancel it, I try my best to work with you on how to do that. When it comes to COVID, that same principle applies—I have a special section in my contract that protects both of us if travel is shut down again or something like that. I’m not in this for the money!
What happens if there’s bad weather?
I always encourage embracing whatever weather comes our way, as it makes photos beautiful and unique! I keep about 10 clear umbrellas with me in my gear bag at all times for this purpose. A bright, sunny day is actually the WORST lighting for photography and is super unflattering! I try my best to schedule the best photos of your day within 2 hours of sunset, and if something happens that could totally ruin your plans (or my gear!) I do my best to rescue or accommodate! I'm an expert at adjusting plans at the last minute.
Do you help in the planning process?
Absolutely! That’s part of the experience I strive to provide for each couple, as it’s absolutely crucial to make the kind of adventures we plan together happen! Anything that I can do to make the process easier for you or anything I can help with, I try to do. Let me know if you have specific needs!
What about extra fees?
I build in all other fees to my packages so there are NO hidden costs for you, with the exception of the wedding permit you’ll need to get through the National Parks Service. I require that I have a copy of this before your wedding day!
